Findings:

  • There is no evidence of periapical pathology associated with any of the teeth.
  • Large, but normal, marrow space seen inferior to LL6 roots.
  • Incidental finding of a well-defined unilocular corticated bone cavity at the lower border of the mandible inferior to LL7. This is a Stafne’s bone defect and no action is needed (image 2).
